Introduction

Through the Tenth Malaysia Plan (RM-10), the government has identified the need for the establishment of the Malaysia Board of Technologist (MBOT) in order to recognize graduates of relevant skills and technology. This recognition will encourage institutions of higher learning (IPT), including educational institutions and technical and vocational training (TVET-Technical Vocational Education and Training) offers courses and programs in line with the needs of technology-based economy towards a high-income country.

This exposition is proposed in response to the call by the government in promoting TVET as well as the interests of technologists and technicians, especially graduates of institutions of higher learning (IPT), educational institutions and technical and vocational training and the industry together to showcase the innovation and research related to TVET and subsequently registered with MBOT for recognition of their profession.

This exposition is also seen as capable of affirming promote related activities at the TVET East Coast Zone in addition to generating revenue for the university.

OBJECTIVES
  • MBOT as a recognizing body for professional technologists and technicians for graduates of institutions of higher learning (IPT), educational institutions and technical and vocational training (TVET) and the industry
  • To display the innovations achieved through research and development activities by all institutions in Malaysia and demonstrate the strength of researchers which are fundamental to a university.
  • To Increase the confidence of the industry and outside of the expertise and research capabilities available so that the exposition can be used as a channel for business matching both parties.
  • To promote networking and strategic cooperation between higher education institutions and other players such as entrepreneurs, private companies and individuals.
  • To open up opportunities for higher education institutions and to strengthen the joint ventures with other institutions in related fields.
